  • Rockhopper won´t start printing

    Hi all

    Just printed few banners, all´s well. Changed the material and now it won´t start printing.
    I´m using Signlab 8 with Rockhopper printer.

    What happened?

    hi
    had a similar problem with the cadet once
    the machine has a setting for vinyl left and it thought the roll was empty
    just went through the menu and put another 100m in
    and away it went
    hope this helps

    That´s not it. It prints the nozzle check okay, but seems like it doesn´t receive commands from pc. My guess is (for now) that it has to be either port problem or cable failure.

    Have you tried rebooting both. Sometimes when my Versacamm has had issues I have just rebooted both and this has worked. When switching the printer off I have to do it on the main switch and not just the control panel on/off switch.

    I often have "port" problems on my Rockhopper 38.
    Sometimes it is as a result of the IP address being lost by the Flexisign software and needs to be keyed in again in the driver setup menu (if you are using TCP/IP). On other occasions the "cannot open port" signal can be resolved by pulling the power supply out of the mini server that is under the Rockhopper (where the data cable inputs) and simply plugging it back in after a few seconds..
