  • Heat press recommendations please?

Posted by Andrew McCreadie on 4 March 2009 at 00:28

    Hi Everyone

I was down at Printwear & Promotion yesterday with the intention of purchasing a heat press. I narrowed it down to Grapityps TS-One – Expres’ xp7006a swing 38 x 50 and the Pressmech A3.
The Pressmech interested me because of its pressing height 0-150mm but to be honest Ive never heard of the company ! Grafityp and xpres are established companies whom I’ll dealt with before, so if anybody could share their opinions I would be very grateful.

    Thanks Andy

i purchased the grafityp one… T1. its a great press… the added advatage for me was that you can buy add-ons for it. so i took it all as one. came with the large press plate, the baseball cap addition and the pocket addition.
beats having 3 machines, when you can have 3 in one at a very reasonable price. i think anyway… 😀

ill be honest mate, i cannot remember what i paid but i did get a good deal.
i dealt with Nigel on this one, so maybe an idea to ask for him. he is aware of the UKSG setup in conjunction with grafityp etc so he will be able to advise on any discounts going etc

Cheers Rob I’ll give Nigel a buzz.

Karl I see on the Grafityp website its price is £1050 + vat obviously with the current state of the £ I’m not surprised prices are going up instead of down.

Sorry mate, I should have said I bought my press over 3 years ago. Still a good price though for a more than reliable machine. Nigel’s the right chap to speak to though as Rob’s said.

We use Siser TS One for years (4-5) and it serves really good. It is fast on heating, keep temperature good and the best thing is that the heater moves aside the working plate so you have enough space to put the material to working position.

I just got the 50×50 Xpres one for the extra 50 quid its not worth considering the smaller one, its sturdy and really well made and parts and spares are available in the UK.

    hi andrew
to be honest mate, what i have used it for its been great… all very good quality. however, the full setup was purchased soley for self promotion. by that i mean UKSB goodies that will be continually be getting handed out around the site and a new site we have coming. other than that, we do our own staff workwear, our company mugs mousemats etc…. but i don’t offer a service to our customers with it, even though many have asked that have seen our own stuff.

Bought my set up through Martin Broad at BMS………. Printer Owners. I know a few others have bought there too and like them I am very happy with the level of service and support he gives.

I know he does not attend the exhebitions and relies on word-of-mouth

I bought the tek-press one from flea bay for around £280 as a bit of a sideline to my sign business and have to say its doing very well for now, only had it a few motnhs though but it does what is says on the tin and has paid for itself with one job last week!

    worth a look.

    cheers
