  • can someone help with a word document please?

Posted by Dave Bruce on 4 February 2009 at 10:12

I have created a word document (as that is what the customer wanted) for a companies letterhead, and covering the page I have placed a faded image of his logo like a watermark. If he opens this file he won’t be able to type text over the ‘watermark’ as clicking in that area highlights the image ready for alteration. Hope you are following! Can I embed/lock this image so he can type over the image?

    Cheers

    Right click image
    Layout tab
    select behind text
    check anchor box

May be a better way but I hate word so avoid it like the plague!

Thanks Tim, I had no layout on the right click! 🙁 I have set to the back already. Just had someone phone and sort it out, I needed a new text box over the image 😳 I don’t really use word so it is all new to me.

    Thanks for your help

Hi Mate, straight from the user guide:-

On the Format menu, point to Background, and then click Printed Watermark.
    Do one of the following:
To insert a picture as a watermark, click Picture Watermark, and then click Select Picture. Select the picture you want, and then click Insert.

To insert a text watermark, click Text Watermark, and then select or enter the text that you want.

Select any additional options that you want, and then click Apply.
For Help on an option, click the question mark , and then click the option.

To view a watermark as it will appear on the printed page, use print layout view.

    Cheers
