firefox / avg users, a little help please.
hi all, was having a few probs with my free version of avg 8.0. i downloaded and re-installed it just fine, a few minutes later, firefox told me that it had updated and needed to shut down (ff3), so i did and re-opened it.
every site and forum password was reset upon the first log-in, as i’ve had to do in the past, after that it always remembered them, with the exception of hotmail and paypal.
now, i dunno whether it’s ff, or avg, but every time i switch on, i have to re-do all the passwords, previously i was auto signed in and never needed to type anything, at worst my password / u-name was just requiring a click to enter the sites,
anyone got any idea what’s happening? all the passwords i keep stored are still there, and i always check "keep me logged in" when signing in, but now i have to do it every time,
i’m guessing something to do with cookies, but since i don’t really know the difference tween good and bad ones, i’m reluctant to tamper!

It sounds like its changed your security settings to high. Im not at work and I havent go FF at home so I couldnt tell you how to change back at the min. If you havent got it sorted by time I get to work ill have a look.
Did this happen today? Just FF installed a new version for me today too but with no issues.

Have you checked your preferences, it would be under something like ‘remember passwords’

i’m guessing it’s more to do with AVG 8, ff rememers the passwords, but i’m not automatically logged in like before.
ff has the feature that opens up the internet tabs exactly as they were when you closed it, with the exception of hotrmail and ebay, i never have to sign in to begin browsing again.
i guess it’s not a huge deal, but it is a pain to keep logging in all the time!
