Mixed stained wood and ali composite sign.
Hi
Need to manufacture a traditional looking sign fairly quickly.Will be of stained wooden posts and framework around a gloss face.
Normally would paint up the gloss face (marine ply) but want to use flooded ali composite instead for speed.
What is best way of attaching the composite to the backboard, would vhb tape do the job on ply, or which glue, or is it better to trap it under the architrave framing?
Since it’s a fairly big sign I am worried that the composite might ‘wobble’ in high winds also if not secured near the centre.

Just found this pic, 4mm Amaribond panel set in fence posts with a routed grove all round, panel size from memory 1500 x 800mm.

Thanks for the input. It’s going to be two sign boards with three posts setting them at 90 degrees to each other, each sign approx 1.4m x 1.2m.
Similar to the picture you post Neil but would like a wooden backing to make a more traditional look and the signs fastened to the face of the uprights so I can frame them all round.

Ive done a few similar to this, all you need to do is rout a 5mm slot into the post about 10mm deep (do it in about 4 passes). The top and bottom rails are also routed to accept the board. The ones I did have withstood some horrendous gale force winds!!!
