    Hi,
We recently bought some flashed chips to use up some of the cartridges we have that are out of date,

The only problem with this is that it reads 100% when there was only about 50% in there,

Forgetting all about it i have run the magenta cartridge out completely, I have replaced the cartridge and checked for no air locks,

I have done about 10 strong headwashes and 6 99 minute nozzle washes,

Still nothing coming out, all other colours are printing perfect (well after so many washes, i should hope so 😉 )

    Anyone have any ideas?

Failing that anyone know a decent independent mimaki repair specialist close to London, We have a guy but cannot get hold of him unfortunately. 😥

Any advice would be helpful advice, thanks in advance

Make sure the capping station is clean for a good seal then run an ‘ink fill’ ( I only know this thanks to Dave Rowland 😀 )

undo the pump cover, some under heads or some behind the machine (depending on model)
you ‘should’ find a pump pipe disconnector
undo this and place a syringe into the connector and suck through the ink and then reconnect.

    or

forget headwashes… use Fill Up Ink command as that what it does.

    Thanks for the response guys,

I just tried a fill ink and nothing, Dave i have a 160s,

I have taken the front off and have the 2 pumps in front of me, where do i find the ‘disconconector’

    Many thanks

ah you have the same machine as me
    ok front metal panel off.
if you look carefully you will see pipes that go down to the bottle and you see pipes that connect to the underside of the capping station.
The pipe between the capping station and the pump will either have a metal cap in the tube or an easy twist disconnector, when you break that you can attach a syringe to it and suck it back.

Fill up ink command first tho.
