Decent banner material
Posted by Martin Oxenham on 3 December 2008 at 10:57Can anyone recommend a decent banner material.
We have tried different makes but can not seem to get any consistency in quality.
They all seem the same …Fine for the first couple of metres then they have fault lines or start to print patchy. This is not a print or profile problem just inconsistency in the material.Martin Oxenham replied 16 years, 10 months ago 6 Members · 6 Replies -

Dear Martin,
can recommend Hexis DSB550 9also known as Dixon Banner. works great on Solvent or UV. other type to look at is duostar from Euromedia which works well on UV but I’ve not tried it on solvent.

Hi Martin,
I had a roll of Uniform banner and that printed lovely, print was consistent over the whole roll no streaking changed to a cheaper media and then got streaking on block colour areas.Steve

Agree with Steve, we have been using Uniform UB1 banner material and have always had great results, however last week they changed supplier and new material not very good, infact i sent it back and used another supplier APS 550 banner which was very good.

Russell.

I had settled on the Metamark banner but recently had a 19m banner to do with not enough stock. The banner was only to last 4 weeks so I thought I would try the Ability banner from Europoint and have to say I`m reasonably happy with it so far. It seems to print well but I don’t have any experience of what it will be like after a year or so. For the price I don’t think you can go wrong for short term stuff though.
Cheers

Thanks for the replies I’ve sent back two rolls of metamark and have just got another replacement but have’nt had time to check it yet.
The other two were fine for the first five metres and then there are fault lines every few feet for the rest of the roll. We tried Metamark after I explained our problem to the rep about the inconsistancy we were getting from other suppliers and he said "try ours you won’t get any problems with that" and then went on to tell me how there rolls are coated to give no problems.
