I have a job to do an 800x400mm clear acrylic oval with a matching 10mm PVC backing.

I can easily get the material machined, but the time & care to get a perfect polished edge would be a pain…although if needs must.

Anybody know of a supplier of perfect polished & cut acyclic shapes.

Somebody mentioned one on here before in a flame polishing thread but I can’t find it.

you could try acrylicdesign.co.uk . They will laser cut it for you which produces a pretty good edge from the effects of the laser (though you can still see lines from the frequency/pulsing effect of the laser). To get a perfect finish wouldn’t it have to go on the diamond polisher but I think you can only do this on straight edges – may be wrong though.

Yeh, that’s the issue I have with letters cut with a laser…it’s far too ‘groovy’ for the high quality I’m after. ie. perfect.

Think it might be just get it routered / water jetted and manually prep the edge before polishing it myself.
