Flame polishing ideally, failing that very fine sanding, (with the foam pads not sandpaper) then fine wire wool, and finally brasso or T cut.
    you’ll get a shine.

I got some diamond embedded cloth pads of various grit sizes from a stone carving shop, expensive but last for ages, give a good result… go up to about 2000 grit size as well. Use like wet & dry.

Hey how about this one – sand the edges and just wipe them over with some dichloromethane (the thin watery glue you use for stickin acrylic together)…and bingo polished edges

Flame polishing discolours some colours of acrylic so do a test piece first.

Acryfix is/was a methyl methacrylate glue. (Tensol also has the save active component)….whooooah, glue sniffers paradise.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dichloromethane

Not used DCM for glueing acrylic before – but used to use Trichloromethane (chloroform) a fair bit…slightly more toxic 😳
Simply wonderful stuff for flawless joints (capillary action). Never thought about it’s polishing properties…hmmm.
