  • why does a gradient fill break apart when converted to eps?

Posted by Dan Saunders on 17 November 2008 at 16:06

I was wondering if anyone could help me PLEASE !!

I have created some logo in corel and have used the fill tool to fade from red to dark gray.

All looks fine on screen but when i convert to EPS for printing the fill breaks apart and each gradient segment can now move…..what on earth is going on ? never had this problem before and i got to get the job done for thursday.

Maybe the Export to EPS settings are wrong ?

    mod-edit please post
    in the correct forum
    this has now been moved

not the same as karl is suggesting

export as a HQ JPEG or Tiff and rip that
or import the bit map after converting and apply a cut line then export as a eps.

a eps breaks down a fade in to steps according to the fountain fill steps command

Fades being converted to small bits is an eps limitation as I understand it. You can create a square/oblong with your fill, convert to jpg and then power clip that into your cut shape, export as eps. Also try exporting as pdf as this doesn’t seem to break the fill apart.
