wd 320 portable hard drive not recognised by pcs? why
Hi all just bought a wd passport portable hard drive for extra back up
at home it connected fine and has sync software etc
when i attach to pcs at work neither pc finds it both pcs running xp and they see flash drives etc no problem
i went back to pc world and got the blank look and bring in the pcs and well have a look .baffled

one of my PC’s ignored my new WD portable 1TB drive, black case with rubber bits each end… just sat there and didn’t install… strange… plugged it into a modern pc and it worked.

just switched the old mac on and plugged it in and it finds it no bother
maybe its a setting on the other two pcs anybody any ideas

that might explain the same problem as it was the firewire computer i tried it on
