  • Shaping corners on Dibond tray

What is the most common way to make the corners on a tray?

To have the join right on the corner or do a V cut on the end so that the join is moved up the side edge?

It seems quite a fiddle to get the V cut in the right place and even the width of a hacksaw blade can create a gap if not in dead the right place.

We were shown to do the ‘v’ way by alcan many moons ago but for me it’s not any tidier infact probably less so, so we just join them at the corner now.

The trays the come from Blackburn use the side method. I prefer the "remove the corner square method and join at the corner. The best way to cut the corner is to use a knife and set square, a hacksaw is just too brutal!!!! Otherwise pick up some sheet metal shears, think B&Q do some for about £25 (aeronautical 4:1).

Call in the expert and PM Richard Urquhart if you need more help…hes built his fair share :lol1:
