need a die cut maybe a heidelberg press??? any ideas :(
Hey guys,
I am trying to cut a piece of PET film for a customer roughly 13 x 14" the chap wants a big run approx 1000 of these cut. Someone advised me as the best way to do this would be getting a die cut made up and then finding someone with a heidelberg to do a run for me…i print flyers and brochures not usually this kind of thing so could do with some help here
can someone on here help me get a die cut or any advice as to where I can even get one made?
alternatively can any bright sparks here offer their advice on how best to do this more heads are always better than one 😉

I think a look in the yellow pages or a search on google for die cutters would be your best bet
I needed to find one a couple of years ago and was surprised to find two companies on my doorstep that I knew nothing about
If I could give you any tips it would be that if it is going to be a repeat order, make sure they keep the die or ask if you can keep it….you don’t want to be paying for it twice

As said above – look locally and you’ll find a few that will either make you a die or die cut your material.

there are still a lot of heidleberg platens out there but i think most of them are now illegal as there was never any guards on them, wuldnt suggest you buy one!
you would probably need a small lorry to move one and maybe a small crane.
suggest you get a quote of a print finishing company.dies to be made aren’t cheap either. maybe worth you getting a quote from a local packaging company who i guess now use cad based cnc cutter to route out the printed shape.
platen is a well made machine though, i doubt if you would ever have a problem with it they will probably last for centuries
