    Hi
I have a number of murals to do for a restaurant. They are to be digitally printed and applied to a new, flat, painted surface, and they wont see direct sunlight.

I was planning to use ORACAL 3551 for this job.
HOWEVER in a distracted moment I loaded 3164 and printed off eight meters of 1370mm vinyl before realising my mistake. This is one complete mural.

The print looks fantastic and I would hate to have to waste it.

Does anyone think I should use it, or should I chuck it and start again with the good stuff? What exactly does 4 years life expectancy mean in this case?

The murals will be laminated for protection. Am I throwing good money after bad?

    Outdoor Durability
under vertical outdoor exposure: 4 years

    I wouldn’t sweat it.

I’ve done stuff on calendared aver 3000 on corflute about 18 months ago and they haven’t started shrinking back yet.

Maybe if they were near heat then I might be worried otherwise laminate and apply them I say.

Hi Simon, I use both 3551/215 and 3164/215 materials.

I doubt you’ll have an issue at all.

Both products are at the quality end of the spectrum, and laminated with no sunlight, I reckon they’ll be a no problem at all.

I get fantastic results from both products too, and although I limit my 3164 to temporary work, I’ve seen it in pretty harsh situations for several years with limited problem.

In a restaurant environment I’d probably use Oracal tedlar anti graffitti laminate tho. …. unless you guys aren’t as rowdy as us aussies…..

…. then again, I just realized you are from New Zealand… say no more :lol1: :lol1:
