  Can my printer get damaged from the cold?

  Hi all.

  I’ve only had my solvent printer a couple of months, this morning when I turned it on it said it was too cold to operate. Can my printer get damaged from the cold, as it is the first cold day today. Is it best to have some sort of heating around the machine. I used to work for a company that never had any sort of heating in their building and the solvent printer never said about it being too cold, and it did get cold there lots.

  If I cover the machine at night, will that help?

  The machine that I have is a 54" print n cut Grenadier, if that any use.

  Any machine has an optimal operating temperature range, the cold will affect fluid viscosity and evap drying times of the solvents.

  Get yourself a couple of plug in heaters and a timer switch. Leave on plugged in to keep a base temperature and put the other on a timer to boost the heat just before you start work…….
