  • Wrapping over plain plastic bump strips

    Hi All

I have a Renault Scenic which has the black plastic bump strips across the doors, it sits right in the middle of the door and leaves very little room to put any decent graphics.

What I want to do is wrap over them but I’m sure I will need to do something in order to ensure it will stick. Do I need to coat these with some sort of coating to help the vinyl stick and stay stuck as I want to wrap over the entire side and just won’t look half decent with this big ugly grey plastic bump strip 😕

    any advice appreciated

    cheers

    Warren

Warren, clean the plastic with iso, then use an etch panel wipe, (bodyshop prep)

it does work, but you also need to trim the wrap around the plastic.

Even though I say it works, I would not give a long term warranty, and Iwould tell the client that it may not last as long as the vinyl applied to the paint, and if it starts to lift, then it can be removed.

Maybe use something like Arlon 8000?
