As the title, having trouble sourcing a reasonable-cost supplier, cheapest I have found so far are £65 trade, can’t sell on at that price! (Customer won’t even bite at cost price!)

    Thanks

    Lorraine,
I occasionally use an electrical wholesaler called WF Electrical,, they may stock them, I notice their catalogue show branches in Ipswich 01473748431 and Norwich 01603 788000.

Try and talk your customer into using trough lighting, those swan neck jobs are so ugly and tarnish in no time, turn squif at the slightest breeze and are only useful to spotlight a postage stamp. Totally unsuitable for signage in my opinion.
Insight do trough lights for 10 squid a foot. Bargain.

If you do insist on using them try TLC Electrics

Portland Lighting do some very good models, possibly not the cheapest, but good quality – easy to install as well. I have used cheaper ones in the past and had a few problems, e.g. poor threads, or not very good electrical connections. Make sure you choose something that has at least an IP rating above 65.

    Try http://www.portlandlighting.co.uk/main.html

As mentioned earlier some of the cheaper ones tarnish within one year, however don’t forget to offer your maintenance service, e.g. offering to change bulbs regularly, keeping signs clean etc. to ensure your customer looks top notch.
