can anyone help me to source babywear please?
Posted by Karen on 14 September 2008 at 15:35We have searched on and off over the years for a particular type of baby clothing and have so far drawn a blank, so if anyone can help point in the right direction it would be fantastic.
What I am after is the babygrow/romper suit type things. We want them with legs and arms (although feet are optional). A variety of colours would be good and they need to preferably do up at the back or just shoulders and legs. They obviously need to be completely plain for printing.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Are you after polyester for dye sub Karen? I found some t shirt vests at our local wholesaler recently and they told me they were waiting on a delivery of full suits (also in polyester).

Ideally cotton for expanding our flock designs, but if we can find poly mix ones as well for dye sub even better. We do the vests at the moment, but want the full suits.

Hi Karen,
Don’t have any names for ya but you could try "The Trader" magazine, it’s a great magazine packed full of various wholesalers details. You can normally buy it at large newsagents or visit http://www.thetrader.co.uk/
Is Primark or Asda no good for you?

Thanks for that. It is actually very difficult to get plain ones, but we will keep on looking.
Ideally we need a regular supply of them anyway before we add them to our range. -
Hi Karen, what I know about Baby Grows could be written on the thin edge of a postage stamp however, I have just rung a friend of mine who has a supplier that does them.
100% cotton interlock fabric, plain white, pale blue & pale pink, packs of 5 £3.95 each.
The company is called Pen Carrie and the phone number is 0800 252248.
I hope that this might be of use to you.

It may sound obvious, but have you tried George at Asda? We have been getting packs of babygrows from there for a while for about £3 a pack.

I know, I am awkward 😛
We may have to resort to these though, but I was really after the ones that do not do up down the front.
After some more searching a a couple of ideas sent through BabyBugz do do them, but it is just a case of if we can source Uk based, due to having no idea on quantities we may require yet.
Thanks again for all the ideas etc .

Hi Karen,
I am based over in Germany and I use a company called L-Shop for my T-shirts etc. They have a huge range of Babybugz and you can buy individual pieces too. It could be a good place to buy from til you find a UK supplier. Here is their web site http://www.l-shop-team.de/ go to online shop and then type in BZ into their search box.
Prices are cheaper when you register with them. You cant beat ASDA price though.
Hope this helps.

flock on baby grows??? I think you should check out the health and safety side of things before you print them with that!! Just a thought!
-
Don’t worry we have done. We have been doing baby ranges for sometime now, these are just an extra that we are after adding to the range.
Many of even the largest companies out there use flex and flock on a variety of their baby ranges.

This came up on google, top of search "printable romper suits"

I got a flier through the post from http://www.ranksent.com who do baby grows @50p each and the vests @30p.
