I need to add a cut contour to an image which a customer has sent me. She sent it as an Illustrator image, but the number 8 which i want to put a cut contour around to be cut on a VersaCamm, is made up of 5 layers and therefore i cant seem to place a cut line around the outer edge. Can anybody help me how to do this please.
    thank-you

    Hi Kev,
to put a contour line around an graphic in illustrator select the graphic and then click on stroke change the stroke size to 0.25. To make it a cut path may vary on the rip used. I use troop so I make the stroke 100% magenta add it to the swatch and rename it CutPath change it to a spot colour not process then troop will see it as a cut path and cut it. The colour you choose does not matter it is the fact that it is named CutPath which is important. Other rips may be different so you may be better off finding out which rip is to be used. Kev you will get a better response to questions if you introduce yourself in the hello section and also you will get a warm welcome from members.
