Roland COLORIP was produced by Wasatch for Roland DGA back in 2003. Although it was a fine product in it’s day, it hasn’t seen an update in nearly four years. Users will feel the pinch of compatibility issues with current software and workflows.

Yes Wasatch have been doing this for a while but I’ve not been interested until now.
I just ordered the upgrade today so I’ll let you know how it goes, only downside so far is you have to use a dongle, yet another one. I’ll soon need a computer with 20 extra usb ports just to fit dongles.Steve

Steve, I’ve been using this upgraded version for a few months. Can’t imagine going back to the older version now.
For an extra cost, you can buy a plug-in that lets you print serialized numbers, with bar codes if you need them, on your own designs. Opens a whole new world for asset numbers and stuff for me.
I purchased directly from the States though, as the local aussie agent wanted to double the cost, stating the strength of the aussie dollar against the green back. Thing is, when I purchased our dollar was around 96 cents, so it should have been heaps cheaper. I purchased from the states, paid the fedex freight, and still saved $300 over what they wanted to charge locally.

Good to hear that it’s worth doing, the UK agent told me about the plugin but at the moment I don’t think it’ll be of much use to me.
Price in the UK is £195.00 +Vat so slightly more expensive than the US price but not by to much, although the difference may have paid for the shipping from the USA.
It does really annoy me that companies try to charge more in this country than the equivalent US price. The actual exchange rate price is something like £168.00 but then with exchange rates changing so much it could go up or down from that at any time.Steve
