what are peoples opinions of the Jac Serisign Vinyl?
Posted by Warren Beard on 11 August 2008 at 19:12Hi All
Been looking at Jac Serisign vinyl as a second supplier as they are offering a good price on it. It’s an 8 year vinyl recommended for vehicles etc but was wondering if anybody on here uses it and what their opinion on it are.
cheers
Warren

Warren,
Have used it for the last 18 months find it really good, cuts and weeds great and easy to apply. I buy it from Victory.

Hi Warren, we use it to for quite a bit of our work, very good especially the white as the backing paper is blue so really easy to weed.

I use it on occasions, and did consider a full swap to it.
Long story – my vinyl supplier had hiked all of their prices by 10-15% & I went looking elsewhere. Offered Serisign for a pretty good rate – actually VERY good rate by Victory so switched…(such a shame that if the order’s not ballsed up, it’s out of stock, I’m poorly advised or the dispatch cut-off time has passed…as of tonight it’s to the stage where it’s more bother than it’s worth to use them as a serious vinyl supplier.)
Anyway…material is pretty good. Cuts & weeds well, thin & conformable (with patience), all in all – a good quality polymeric…but Mactac 9800 it ain’t so don’t expect miracles.

Would agree…sort of. The original JAC stuff about 5 years ago was diabolical…and the monomeric vinyl first introduced was, em, pants.
The latest Serisign seems pretty good to work with by all accounts. My only faults with it are – only 1220 wide (I prefer the 1260) and my application tape doesn’t grab it as well as with most other vinyls.
I’ve no long term experience with it – so no idea how it looks a year or two down the line – but initial impressions are that it’s on the good side of OK.

I switched to serisign after using LG that seems to have become very crap to weed even after changing blades and setting and also failed on a black van even on a flat panel! now i have made the jump to avery 700 and what a difference! I was a bit unsure with the serisign but you can tell the avery stuff is way out of its league, ok you have to pay £1.50 instead of £1 but well worth it!

allprint if you email me through my site ill give you a number.

Allprints number is no secret, 01753 696977
I had a sample of jac, from them recently, only the black though, it cut and weeded fine, and applied without problem, I cant vouch for its other properties though, like shrinkage or longevity?
as for the price, I would do your own negotiating, it depends on how much a supplier percieves you as a quantity buyer, as to the ammount of discout they offer,Peter

Thanks for that.
Quite surprised on price compared to my current supplier and i thought i had negotiated well. I’m not the biggest in the world but i do turnover a fair bit. And as i spend alot of time in France i do buy in bulk!! -
no the number is no secret i was just going to give him the number of the guy i get it from at that price.

all print supplies do some nice products. from memory i think they also do mactac? darren kinsella maybe a good bet if you can get in contact with him, not sure if he deals with individual accounts or more in marketing… sorry I’m being a bit vague… it just came back to me as i received some textured vinyl for printing onto which was rather nifty. heard some good reports on it too.
anyway… im steering off topic. 😀 -
I know APS were doing a deal on serisign, buy two rolls and get one free but even that deal didn’t get it down to a pound a metre, that’s too low especially with all the current increases, I think we payed about 1.05 with the offer and its just gone up to the 1.50 mark.
I have to say I like it, they seem to have weeded out all the problems.
