  suggestions please for crystal effect on acrylic letters?

  hi all,

  just had a request for a sign tray with word ‘crystal’ to be cut out from it. they then want this word to illuminate but look like the material is crystal and sparkly…

  i thought of maybe cutting the letters from clear acrylic and then gluing some sort of Swarovski crystals or glass shards or something similar to create the look they are after?

  as usual they don’t want to spend much, but want an amazing look, so any suggestions or ideas would be much appreciated..

  I would create a clear acrylic box behind the letters about 2 to 3 inches thick and then screw up some cellophane and mix up some sparkly Xmas decorations and stuff it all in and light from the rear.

  good idea mike, many thanks for the suggestion! never thought of anything like that….

  i’ll suggest it to the customer and see if they are up for a bit of experimentation… I’ll let you know how i get on…
