Is my Roland Sp300 Telling me the truth?
Hi All,
We use a Roland sp300. Had absolutely no problems with it at all. It sits there churning out the work day after day and occasionally asked for new ink cartridges which we are more than happy to give it.
One question, when i remove the old cartridge "Eco Sol Max 440ml’s" there seems to be quite a bit of ink left in it.
Is my machine deceiving me when it says it needs a new cart, is there really that much ink left in the cart? Does anyone else find this?

Our SP 300 does not recognize the 440 cart. When new, it shows full as per usual, as the ink drops to half, the machine shows empty (no bars on the menu) From this point on, you have to "fly blind" on the last 220ml, as it shows empty all the way. Once the machine stops (if adjusted to do so on the menu) the cartridge holds about 4or 5 ml ink – the same as when a 220 cart runs dry. If you shake the cartridge, you should NOT hear any ink sloshing around in it. Ours is a fairly old model ( about 4 or so years) – maybe later models will read the 440 carts correctly.

Hello Gert,
I actually open one my latest magenta "empty" cart. There was alot more than 5ml in there. I would say there was about 1/5 of the ink in there.
I’ll give Roland a call tomorrow and see what they say.
