These are a good cutter to start of with.
A good company to deal with and good backup.

I bought the Jag III, well worth the little extra, forget signpal that comes with it, its cr@p. I cut direct from Corel. Definately a cracking machine and easy to use.

I have to disagree with Graeme regarding signpal. Signpal is really flexisign and is a dedicated sign cutting program and if your just cutting vinyl its very good for adding outlines, drop shadows effects etc etc . I would say if you haven’t used Corel then you would be better off with Signpal (flexisign ) it also has production manager which can set nice things regarding laying out the vinyl for cutting adding easy weed and make for the best use of your materials. I know you can get this for Corel. I think it wrong to class it as crap !

Probably just me then, loaded it and had problems from the start, probably because it came with no manuals to aid its use and had a cheap feel to it – Chinglish spelling mistakes!
Ive used signlab and engravelab and didn’t find it anywhere as user friendly. Guess Ive just thrown something half decent in the bin!!!!

Just looked at the documentation and the Chinglish cr@ppy software is called "JoyCut" and is far from a joy to use. The CD was’nt even worthy of being a coaster for my coffee mug.

Apologies for calling SignPal cr@p, I just did not pay the extra for the software when Im happy cutting from Corel (having used it with a Suma D1010…..)

Patrick, If you go with the Jag as a plotter, have a think about the software as Im sure the SignPal is an optional extra/exclusion with the package.

I did wonder if were were talking about the same package, when i got my first plotter a signpal ultra i paid extra for signpal master which is almost the same as flexi sign pro £3000 worth !!. Sigpal however only comes with the drivers for the cutters and not the complete range of plotters.

Jag III, its a more up to date machine with enhancements over the Jag II. It also has AIS, only used it once but was invaluable.

As to uses, how good is your imagination. If you work on the premise that you can draw or source the graphics/lettering and you can find something to stick it to then give it a go. A flare for design and layout are essential otherwise you create vinyl graffiti. Have a look at the work posted on here and don’t be afraid to experiment.

P.S. upgrade your membership, you will not regret the £80 spent.

Back to me on this then, its going to be the summa for me as I now own this plotter, tracking build quality are fantastic.
