  • what is the best method of storing vinyl?

    Hiya,

Was just wondering if there is a way that Vinyl should be stored ideally.
I have a home office, I have set myself up with a bench, desk etc but no where to store my vinyl apart from standing on their end on the floor.
At the mo i don’t have that many rolls but i don’t want to get into bad habbits.
Any ideas would be gratefully received

    Thanks guys

    Jo

    hi Jo
home office /study… had the same problem but a trip to ikea solved it
get yourself a set of Billy bookcases, store all your vinyl ,(they fit exactly)as well as books files etc
you wont find better without it looking industrial

Unless supported by the cores, vinyl should be stored vertically, so you’re doing the right thing.

Ours are under the bench too, although on a built in shelf, about three inches off the floor.

If you only have a dozen rolls or so, a really cheap idea (Ikea again !) is wine racks! I have some interlocking wooden ones that sit under the table 🙂

Screwfix Shelving Uprights with 370mm brackets Works well with rolls up to 610 wide. For wider rolls screw battens to the brackets for additional support.
