as I am a novice and I have just been checking out your work I have just done this scooter and found the panels more difficult than the side of a car first time wrapping after a course I did last week, anyone got any advice on how to get the vinyl into the really rounded corners of a scooter panel does that sound daft 🙄

they are not the easiest thing to wrap, most importantly you must secure it to the bench with access to the sides, takes two people one to warm other to pull but not stretch to much. should pull down cleanly.

the photo colour may not be the best but looks like you need to change the profile as your reds and blues look weak, what res and passes did you print at

not sure as spandex had to print them for me as my printer is down and I had jobs waiting so demanded they print my work until I have replacement, did think the colours were a little dull myself

Looks nice Karen. But as Chris stated the colours look pale. Did you do this in Corel and export as CMYK? This can cause the image to lose it’s colour especially if it’s exported as an EPS file.

    Sorry, just read last post.

Good advert for Spandex. You’d think after all the crap they’ve given you
that they would perform a lot better than this. 👿

oooo errr!! Karl, quite a noobie to printing. I design in corel and export as CMYK as an EPS and rip in troop. 😮 😮 😮 Is this the same as putting diet coke in a good single malt??

What’s should I be doing?? other than getting my coat 😀

    Sorry about the hijack 😳

it took all day to install and they say I am being too fussy, even though this is so called a top machine with patented wave technology the fact that the waves show up to human eye is really ok and is acceptable to the customer, even though I am not even looking really close at the print ?? still waiting for compensation, but printed off some vinyl yesterday ok and then 2 identical 6′ long pieces today one has banding and the one next to it on the same run hasn’t so now I am really confused :praise1:

always think of the viewing distance smaller stickers should be next to flawless, a 8ft x 4ft hording print can only be seen for a fare way off so printing quality resolution and pass rates alter accordingly

yes a bit like the new extreme prints fast but only to be seen from a distance but even something the size of a credit card was banding i just don’t understand why only a proportion of the 6′ print was wavey maybe A5 size

What quality and speed are you printing at Karen. When you’re first using a printer you have to learn how to get good quality from it. It won’t give you the amazing quality you see at a demo or at a sign show. Bit like driving a car Karen…..It takes time to understand. When I first got the Rocky 38 no one told me you had to buy purpose made vinyl for it and that you could not print on normal signmaking materials. Unless you have someone to educate you it can be a long road to perfection.

    could be loads of things.
    main ones
    contaminated vinyl
vinyl buckling on the print bed.
vinyl pulling tight against the rollers.
if the major parts are ok probably not the machine

well i was just printing in production mode which is what i have used before, the bit that has waved is a small black area if that makes sense I mean if i was printing a nice photo on gloss paper i would adjust the print to quality (slow but makes all the difference) but i didn’t think for a bit of black that would make a huge difference and the pictures were perfect

This kind of thing just makes you want to give up sometimes.
Call them up again and tell them you want someone out to advise you and see what the thing is doing. They can’t refuse to help you. If they do then demand they take it back and refund you. 👿

the thing is Karen they all want to sell you the mutts nuts and take your money. Then, as I did, receive a letter saying "We sell these machines on the understanding you already have some level experience already. We will also point out that we are not an educational facility!" So why do we get charged £500 for a days trainng then?
