Whats your choice of T Shirt?
Hi all,
Just wandering what T shirts the garment printers on here use as standard.
What brand and weight is you usual stock tee.Thanks Dave

Really quite limited as far as sublimation goes as they need to be polyester (or a high percentage of) I like the vapour range but they are more expensive, I usually use the xpress ones. Sublisoft have a great feel to them but are prone to getting blue/brown spots no matter how well they are "de fluffed"

Our standard ones are Jerzee 160M for cheap, 180M for mid range, and
215M for top range. Tried lots of others, but keep coming back to these. -
for flex/flock type I generally use fotls for t’s/polos and jerzees for sweatshirts.

Is this a question about dye sub or normal T shirts?
Dye sub = xpres subli tee, normal = Gildan 2000 from BTC -
I didn’t see dye sub anywhere in the original question, so I assumed
normal shirts… -
Stag – Hen shirts I send them to buy there own from Primark/Matalan. Other than that we use Gildan 5000 for basic jobs and for customers paying that little bit more we use Gildan 2000. As Steve, we use BTC, unbeatable on service and price 🙂

Used to use Starworld, great shirts & price, great service. Not ordered from them for a while now, heard mixed reports about quality recently.
Tend to use BTC as supplier wherever possible, UKL as backup. ALways liked the Jerzees 180, tend to buy more polo shirts at the moment so I’m sticking to Gildan and they seem fine.
Xpres for subli shirts.

Can’t really comment on the sublim t’s as we don’t tend to do many bu for normal t’s it’ll be Gildan all the way unless there is an odd size they don’t do etc.
Same for polo’s and sweatshirts, gildan wherever possible.
A customer commented just the other day how they hold their colour far better than any other brand he has ever had, and his get the wash/wear process a lot.

Speaking as a user, rather than a producer…….
My T shirt of choice is the Jerzees JT160L
They have always been excellent, although I have noticed that recently they have started to come though a bit shorter than they used to be. Not a problem yet, but any more and it will be.

Thanks for all your replies seems to be a nice mixed bag there. But for flex jerzees seem quite popular and xpres for subli.

I find that Jerzees, fruit of the loom/screen stars are all looked upon as "cheap"
where they may be of a similar quality to Gildan, they do not seem to be held in the same esteem, people often come in and ask me "you dont use fruit of the loom do you"?
and luckily I use Gildan, its seems it has a stigma attached to it from all the cheap screen printed fall apart First wash ones they produced in the 80’s -
I agree about FOTL being cheap, but I’ve never had a problem with jerzees,
and have always thought of them as being higher quality than average.
Gildan seems to be popular, but I’ve always found them a bit rough to the
touch, which caused the knap to raise when screenprinting. Maybe they’ve
changed the fabric now. -
use more spray tack, that’ll stop em lifting
a whole can per shirt. -
i only use the gildan 100% cotton t-s, sweats and hoodies as the norm. as others have said, people look at fotl as cheap, i’d sooner be too expensive for a customer than get moaned at for supplying somehting they consider ‘cheap’!
i do offer fotl as an alternative though, and haven’t had any issues with them.
