  • Huge problems with my JV33… Help :(

It seems Cyan is cursed, same color use to act up alot on my old machine 🙁

It seems like its loosing ink flow- but I can’t nail the problem down. I’m not to familiar with this machine.

I’ve done the usual- switched cartridges, nozzle wash, several hard washes – each time the problem goes away for about 30cm, and then starts again. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

What I *REALLY* can’t figure out is on a few of the prints you can see the print head actually mis-firing a completley seperate colour down where its not suppose to be? I did a few test prints, and actually saw nozzles that were firing colours other than that of what they should. Only 2 or 3, but I think that could cause a problem.

When I looked at the head from underneath, it looked as if ink was puddling on the actual print head surface – is this normal?

THanks in advance, as always – I’m in a bit of a bind here so any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Another note-

I recently just started using this material (a few days ago) – its a 10mil polypropelene type material and I’ve had no problems. Printed about 300sq ft of it.

I’m approaching the inside of the roll, and I thought – Maybe it has something to do with static? Perhaps? So I decided to try and switch materials – I threw in a cheap adhesive vinyl, printing the same files – and so far about 20sq ft printed with no problems… the machine is still going fine.

Could it be 1 of two things –

    1. Static being produced from this material is playing with the print head?

    2. Because of the thickness of the material (254 micron) and I have the print head on the ‘thin’ setting, it could be causing deflection and clogging up the print head? Perhaps?

Hi just wondered if you still have the problem. I had a similar problem with my JV3 and still do on some colours. I now print uni directional on 8 pass or sometimes 4 pass and the blues seem to like it a lot more. Did you print the images shown on uni or bi?

this post missed me, might be because 3am and then morning site activity…

starvation and media can cause this, i kept looking at the mark but isn’t that a masking tape residue mark?

i would say dirty capping/heads causing bad suck.
