I’ve been through all of my swatch books yet can’t find a ‘silver’ etch vinyl that’s REALLY sparkly.

Anybody have some / know a supplier?

    I’m only needing 2m x 1m to do a job too!

    Thanks

    Dave

europoint do or did do one a while back. the reason i know is i bought the glittery one by mistake and i don’t like it. doesn’t look like genuine etch to me.
ide try them anyway because they may still do it…

mactac do a nice range of colour tinted etch films… so may offer a sparkle one too..

from memory William Smith do some really nice effects in etch. I am sure they had a display at signuk showing the range in 2007.

grafityp may be an option too as they do some nice films like this. maybe an idea to check their website on that.

all this said, i dont know if any of the above will allow you to buy a couple of metres. might be a minimum of 5 metre order. i know this is the case with europoint.

3M do a lovely sparkly etched range. You’re gonna pay for it though, and you’re unlikely to buy only a couple of metres. Howver, if you can talk them into blue, I’ve got some left from a previous job which would be nice to turn into cash, so I’d let you have some for a very reasonable price.

Doro do a Frosted crystal etch with "a strong silver fleck and a deep colour". Don’t know about minimum order though.

    Thanks Rob

Wm Smith – (usual supplier anyway) – just some 3M stuff…and none too sparkly.

Andersons (Mactac)…nowt. Some pretty colours though 🙂

Looked through my Graphtyp books – nothing jumping out – but will try the website.

Europoint – will give ’em a ring.

Mactac ones are pretty plain IMO. More sparkle in Oracal or 3M.

3M have the best sparkle etch by far. 😀 Worth paying the little bit extra for.

Try a little company called ‘The Signmakers Warehouse’

They’re based in Shoeburyness in Essex, but they do deliver.
they supply some sparkly etch branded ‘ritrama’ … I think it’s 7 year life.
It’s pretty close to the 3M frosted crystal.

    They’re phone number is : 0845 607 6195.

I have no connection with them, just a satisfied customer. 😀

    Hi David,

I had a rep from Allprint show me a sample of a LG window acid etch film. It was just like the 3M version, sparkly and was nice stuff, but a hell of a lot cheaper. It was a couple of years ago now.

    Just though that might help

    (cough! splutter!) £26 a metre…me thinks NOT.

Got Ritramas ‘spangly’ alternative..apparently very similar for less £10 less.

    Sheesh!

    Hi there,

Just got the new europoint price list the frosted glass has been matched to the 3m grade and they sell it by the metre, 5m is only the minimum for the cheaper grades i think as they dont charge carriage.

Have just had a visit which is why i know !!

Got some stuff from Wm Smith. The ritrama stuff is very sparkly…almost like an explosion in a glitter factory.

Should do me fine…and sold by the metre 🙂
