Posted by Paul Munford on 22 May 2008 at 07:55Hi All,
Anyone know the maximum width bubble free frosted etch vinyl can be bought at.
I have a few large 1.5M wide windows to do.

Dorotape do a bubble free at 1260.
Johnson window films do a frost at 1.5 but needs wet application -
what type of etch vinyl are you talking about?
i haven’t or heard of etch with easy apply adhesive on it… not saying its not available just haven’t heard of it. reason i say is i asked about this only recently and was told there wasn’t one. -
Hi,
Just found out that hexis do a frosted film with bubble free adhesive at 1230mm wide by the metre
but useful to know it is available at 1260 wide.
Many thanks

Dora mentioned 1220 but said in their brochure it was 1260, please check before ordering.
Rob, it is there, never used it. Just asked for samples -
Hexis does one called HEX’Press that is described as ‘re-positionable’ and ‘bubble free application without the use of liquid’, I am expecting a delivery today……hope it works.

Thank you for the feedback paul, very interesting…
i may have picked the sales person up wrong but they were promoting a bubble free digital at the time. i said i don’t have much call for it but i know lots have problems applying etch. he said etch wasn’t available due to the grey back adhesive and etch being a translucent vinyl it would not work. now when i think on it the grey back adhesive is for digital media, but i know MACtac and Oracal do easy apply coloured vinyls with a clear adhesive, so why not etchg?anyway, im babbling out loud now :lol1: thanks for the heads up on hexis!

Let us know how good/bad it is.

we have used it and think its fantastic, only problem with it is that it looks embossed, up close you can see the texture of the glue, but you do have to look closely..we have applied 4m x 1200 panels dry with no problems at all..

They did a demo at Sign UK and goes on very easy without a trace of a bubble even for a novice like me!!!!
