    Help!

I’m in the process of buying a Mutoh valuejet 1204 and am being offered two alternative Rip/cutter software bundles – either PosterPrint VJ Ed v12 or Onyx RIP.

Can anybody advise me as to which they think is better/easier to use?

    Thanks,

    Simon

    Hi SimonM
We run a VJ1604 with onyx and a Summa cutter we think the onyx rip is brilliant for both print and print and cut, we have had our VJ for about 1yr.

Hope this is of some help.

As Neil said Onyx is great for print and cutting. You can get more profiles for it too. I have Posterprint and as of yet no one has offered any decent profiles. You may find the Onyx will only be useful for the printer it’s coming with, Specially Mutoh. Bit cr@p really, you buy the rip and then have to pay extra to use it to drive another branded printer.

I think Spandex are doing Posterprint with the Mutoh’s they sell.

Thanks guys, it’s good to know that you rate Onyx.

Yes Jon, Spandex are offering Posterprint – the question is though, how does it compare with Onyx?

The other potential supplier is ASM Technologies…does anybody know anything about them??!
