Laminator advice?
Posted by Scott.Evans on 13 May 2008 at 19:01I’m In the middle of buying a Roland VP 54 print & cut machine and i would like some advice on what laminator to get with it?
Ive had a look at the easymount and the one roland use at the academy think its a gbc.
Needs to work good at:
Laminating cast vinyl for vehicle wraps.
Motorbike graphics **
General use.I would also like 2 know what extras i can have with the printer?
Thanks

We’ve got a Seal Base 62, which has a heated top roller, and we are very
pleased with it. The 54" version would be fine for your needs. Depends on
your budget I guess. I reckon the 54" one is around £5K.Cheers,

I have a gbc titan 165. works great. The heated rollers are usefull even with pressure sensitive material.
Boucht mine from AIT

We use an Emseal Applicator 2R here. I think they are aussie based. It’s a cold laminator and don’t have an issue with it. We do roll to roll laminating when we have rolls of printed graphics needing laminating.
With your printer do yourself a favour and get the automatic take up roller. If you are going to do vehicle wraps you don’t want your prints picking up dust etc. When we got out SP we thought we didn’t need it. Once we started printing a few metres especially when crammed for space you realise how useful it is.
