I know it’s possible, but does anyone know anywhere I can do it.

Some of our customers are asking whether their old graphic panels can be recycled rather than dumped, so we’d like to offer them the option. While the local model railway club takes some, it’s nowhere near what we throw away.

Also, we’re going through ISO 9001 accreditation at the moment, and thinking of going for 14001 in the future, so we’d need some source of recycling for that. And I’ve heard on the grapevine that there will be some diluted version of 14001 that will become compulsory in the not too distant future, with the exhibition industry the first to be made to comply.

So, if anyone knows anywhere that will recycle foamex, preferably local to us (Letchworth, Herts), I’d be grateful.

    Thanks

    Mike

Id try local schools for offcuts and vinyl, obviously not so good for old signs tho.

I was under the impression that Foamex and other foamboards could be recycled as a plastic and disposed of at the local recycling site.

I’m not sure. Phoned our supplier. They said it was recyclable, but they didn’t now anywhere locally – their recycler wouldn’t take foamex.
Maybe I need to get in contact with local council recycling people, but i usually find them (local councils in general) less than useless
