  • what should i tell customers about magnetic vinyl safety?

    Hello

Have heard some talk about safety issues regarding magnetics applied
    to vehicles.

I’ve got an order for pair size 1000mm by 600mm.

I’m thinking that they wont stay on.

Whats does anyone else think I should say to the customer regarding proper/safe usage.

Well it’s still only the 600mm edge that can lift and IMO will be fine if fitted correctly, hence I ALWAYS supply a maintenance and use sheet with these signs.
I would suggest a slight radius on the corners.

I did some mags for a customer told him the obvious to apply to clean surface, don’t put them over ridges etc on the bodywork, store them flat. The next time I saw him he told me he had tested them to over 100mph and they stayed put. Don’t think I would trust them on a bonnet though. I always tell customers to remove them when not needed i.e at night because I had a customer who left them on all the time more or less and it made the paintwork go rusty underneath which in itself would effect adhesion.

I would talk to your supplier, mine nave stated a maximum of 1500mm x 600mm. Give them a care of sheet as well.

I think I’d better speak to my suppliers. I’ve just been asked to do two at 85" x 16.25" for the side of a van…..

    thanks guys

I contacted the supplier they just said it was vehicle grade and I should make it clear to the customer that its for flat panels only(no breaks or corrugations or loose bits) , it should be a clean surface and it should be removed at night.

    Nothing mentioned about speed.

Has anyone got a suppliers care sheet they would share?
