  • Shop Front Sign Advice needed please?

Ive been asked to do a sign for a mates daughters new cake shop. She wants the background to be a high gloss cream colour with blue lettering.

Im not completely keen to do it as normally I just do windows etc. but because he is a friend it could be a good way of learning something new.

The sign is 8"x4" which is nice and handy and the lettering is just basic blue vinyl.

What are my options for the cream mount? Ive been told that perspex will be no good for the job as it will get brittle due to the shop being in the sunlight most of the day, is this true? Also is there any trick to mounting the panel or do I just drill and screw it? Hidden fixings would be nice.

Thanks as ever guys and girls.

Cream Alupanel, blue vinyl, cream or blue plastic trim from Jag Sign Supplies to match, screwed behind frame. Nice & easy!

Paul Cherwell is also making a nice tray either 25 or 50 mm returns, makes life easier if you are not equipped to make your own, they give a nice finish and are easy to fit, and hidden fixings.

Its going onto a wooden shop front. He only wants it to last a year or so just enough time to see if the cafe will be worth continuing with.
