I have been getting a lot of gold leaf signs painted recently which is brilliant! I love gold leaf!!

Love the shoe AJ, just a bit worried it may flap around to much in the wind though, can I ask what material it is made from?

The shoe is gorgeous. I thought it was 3D too – good work. I learned how to do gilding and I loved it – would love to get a call for it.

Thanks for the comments.
The shoe is made from 2 pieces of dibond with foamex in the middle.
Then I sanded down the dibond and gave it a coat of primer (extra grippy) then undercoat and 2 glosses.
I had a good look around at the other hanging signs in the area and none of them had an extra bit of chain down the bottom so I thought it should be ok? but if not I will pop down and fit an extra bit. 😎

I love gold leaf too, having a traditional background.
Does anybody ever get asked these days for glass gilding?
I recently had the pleasure of doing a local jewellers but these jobs are few and far between now.I think that’s a shame.
