  • Day/Night lightbox effect help please?

    Hi,

Can anyone remember a tutorial or something that had a lightbox (think it was a pizza shop) that showed a clear sky in the day, but at night when the box was lit it showed a black sky with stars. Can’t seem to find the thread.

Or maybe you could just help me out.

Customer wants a lightbox saying "BAR OPEN", but doesn’t want it to be displaying that during the day. If I put vinyl behind opal panel would it come through blurry. Thought I could use something as day/night scene trickery suggested above.

    Thanks in advance. 🙂

I think we use a 3M Day/Night Film (Smoke Gray 3635-91) for that. It is close to PMS 423 C (which is a Gray) during the day and is illuminated white at night.

Have used secret acrylic for the NatWest Group. We apply a black mask to the rear so the face is black but when the lights come on, the area that is clear of the mask is white. If you go into any NatWest bank and have a look over the tills, you will be able to see what I mean.

Edit: If you only want a small piece, let me know as i have a small stock here and it will save you buying a full sheet cost it’s chuffin expensive.
