Honda Rune logo
Posted by John Childs on 29 February 2008 at 10:53As the title really. I need the Rune logo and wondered if anyone has it before I set about digitising it.
Cheers

Can’t help on the logo John, but my friends just spent £18K on one (second hand) …what an awesome piece of kit and the finish is outstanding

That’s bad news Craig.
The Rune hasn’t been made for a couple of years now but, with a bit of searching, you can still find a brand new one, still in the box, for £9,000. ($18,000)
Fair enough it needs getting across the Atlantic, and import duty and VAT paying, but they should turn out on the road at quite a bit under £12,000.
I know all this because a friend and myself have been thinking of bringing a couple over.
Better not tell your friend! Our little secret eh? 😉
-
I don’t think I dare tell him that (unless he’s telling me porkies)…I think he would cry.
It looks like new and has less than 900 miles on the clock…and if he treats this like he treated his Harley the spending hasn’t finished yet!

Hi John,
Have you had a look under retro fonts at dafont – some similar may not be exact but may save you a bit of time?

I have now, thanks for the tip.
I can’t find anything very close though, so I guess it’ll have to be find a better bitmap and start digitising.

Nah. It’ll fit no problem.
Gotta get rid of the spare Wing first though. 😛

It may turn others on, but to me that’s pure ugly…
The rear mudguard reminds me of a dog with it’s tail between it’s legs.

Can’t disagree with you there Peter. Fortunately there are a couple of after-market mudguards which do the bike far more justice. IF I get one, replacing that will be my first job.
Also, as standard, it’s a bit of a Sunday afternoon bike, so I would need to sort out some luggage carrying capability for touring.
But it is one beautiful smooth engine. 😀

each to his own an’ all… but wouldn’t it be better to add another pair of wheels and make it into a proper car?

No, no, no!!! :headbang2:
-
No such thing as a proper car, only a utility vehicle for a to b. Only way to travel ‘proper’ has two wheels 😀

I actually think it a bit extreme, buying the bike just because no one can supply the Rune logo…… 😉

It might be cheeky to ask but if you go any further down those lines I’d love to get some pointers on how easy/difficult it is to import from the USA…
just love the blue paint scheme though…

Just a thought – don’t forget to add in the price for converting it to right hand drive!!!! (:) (:) (:) (:)

Not as silly as it sounds Richard. Mods need to be made to ensure the bike complies with European law. The degree of difficulty varies from bike to bike and the market for which it was originally intended.
Craig, sorry, missed this when you posted.
Importing was quite easy when I did mine, but that has been three years ago now, so things may have changed a bit.
If you are really interested I would be happy to give you chapter and verse.

I was going to suggest that you just turn the handle bars around, thats what we would do over here (chat.) (chat.) 🙄 🙄 :lol1: :lol1:

Hi John, I would be interested to hear what to look out for when importing a bike; any pointers would be gladly received.
I’ve been really impressed by the build quality of the Rune, my limitation is that my mechanical knowledge is a big fat “0”, checked out my local Honda dealer CJ Ball and he can service it and there has been an ad running in MCN from a guy in Essex offering Blue, Cherry Red or Black Runes with 50 delivery miles on them for £15995 + he can get the billet chrome wheels if required…
have to say even chopping in my 990 Adventure is going to leave me some way short on that price…but I’m still more than tempted!
