  • Printing using backlit vinyl – problem

    hi,

I tried printing using my cadet today onto backlit vinyl, I canceled the job after the first 50cm as the print was kind of showing a mottled or bubbled effect, obviously through a lightbox this wont be anywhere near acceptable, with the vinyl costing near on £7 per metre Id rather get it right than waste more material. he profile I used was for gloss vinyl at a very slow speed. Any advice appreciate. cheers graeme

    Hi there,

Is it Self adhesive vinyl ? do B&P have a profile for a specific grade?

Rob ( lambie) has a Grenadier so i presume uses the same inks etc , he uses a backlit polyester film and gets good results , maybe thats worth a try and check with rob what profile he uses?

    Hope this helps

Graeme. Probably completely different because of the inks but when I had my encad I had a completely different profile for backlit film to that of normal gloss vinyl.

thanks guys, cameron do you stock a product that would do this job on my cadet, I’m normally 100% using europoint for my supplies but went elsewhere 😳 !! for this. If you could let me know, thing is its only a5m job so no need for a 50m roll.

    cheers

You need to use a profile for backlit vinyl… if you do not have one use one for Matt it will be better than the gloss profile

    Cheers
