Seems to be a common trait at present Harry, some say due to flash within a web page.
I have the Flashblock extension and have not suffered this yet.
There is much discussion on this in the MozillaZine forums.

i never bothered with firefox until just recently. ive had a play over the past week or two but find my pages load much slower than they do in ie. i can look at one page in i.e. and it loads in an instant, load same page in firefox on same computer and it takes about 3 seconds for the page to load. 😕 thought it was just me or my settings… maybe not?
