Just got a free update for my XC-540, new firmware and print modes, it now prints twice as quick and better quality too 😮

Very good of Roland to give it to all soljet/Versaworks users for free 😀

Any one else tried it yet?

    Nick.

What is your opinion of the SolJet and why do Roland have the Versacam range and the SolJet range?

That is a good question. Why?

Versacamm is a 4 colour printer, soljet is a six colour printer

    Nick,

Can I ask you to give me some print times for say a 5x1metre banner.

Do you run off posters as well? You got print times per metre?

I think I need a new printer soon. Our VersaCamm has been printing for hours each day. If I can get a 50% reduction in print time I can maybe find myself a wife.

Not sure on the times but the standard print mod is now 360 x 720 8 pass and high quality is 720 x 720 8 pass, so twice as quick than before 😮

Roland have also changed the way it prints as well, so NO BANDING and fantastic prints in bi_direction 😀

go for an HP 9000 mate.

    Fast printer also 1600 wide.

Also have a look at the OCE. Got a very clever way it passes. It prints in a kind of wave . This eleminates banding.
    Very clever.
