    Hi to all.

    Maybe I´m in the wrong sub-forum, but…
I´m looking for a way to deliver over 20.000 pieces of metal box, made of thin metal sheets and fully printed. What kind of technology is used for that kind of job?

    Thank you for reading this.

    Best regards.

Anodised aluminium, or polyester coated metal (but would be white)
and dye sublimation printing, then heat pressed on.
We have done a fair bit of dye sub printing onto aluminium and it looks very smart.

    Ah,
the picture wasnt there when I posted my reply earlier.
Screen or pad printing, or more costly but full colour, printed stickers.

Are you looking at printing onto the box, or the sheet, before its formed into the box?

I dont know the best method, but I would think easier on the raw material than after the product is formed?

if its presicion printing….it has to be printed on the finished article…..i know it seems flimsy to print…you just have to spend time to make a jig for it possible to print them on, also its not possible for the company to send out the panel sprayed….then get printed as the spray would come off when they were moulded 😀

I have no idea how its done, Nick, but my tin of Quality Street chocs was obviously printed before the tin was made,
so there must be a process that does it, and for 20,000 units I though it may be worth suggesting, if only to look for alternative solutions.

    😀

quite rightly so peter……if its HUGE quantities…then the panels are produced all at once….ie: production line….mould coating, printing but that i would imagine would be for mass amounts 😀 on another note..20,000 pieces is not that a big problem for a well equipped, motivated screenprinter …it all comes with the territory 😀

    Hi Peter,

thank you for the very good question. The amount of 20.000 is only the first order, another with similar amounts should follow. I´m looking for a solution, how to produce this amounts in good quality. I mean, I´m looking for a form technology too. Or for a supplier of this boxes. My concept is a machine, where on the on side will be the tinny sheet of metal inserted and on the other side of machine comes out a complete box, preferably already printed 🙂

    Best regards.

    Hi Nik,

thank you for the idea with screen printing. I outsource screen printing for many years to a company, which do the job very good. So I think, this would be a good way, especially when there´s a same graphics on every box.
Now I need just to find out, how to produce the boxes :-).

    Best regards.
