  • Roland PC 600 Print Head Replacement

I’ve had a Roland PC 600 for several years. I’ve replaced the print head once but now it no longer wants to print. It makes lines across the vinyl ans sometimes grabs one of the ribbons and pulls it out of the cartridge. I’m thinking that I probably need a new print head but not sure if it’s worth the expense. Does anyone have any experience changing the print head on their own or is it a service tech job. Where can one buy a new print head?

    hi
ribbon being pulled out of the cart is normally a badly fitted replacement ribbon. or the little black roller that tensions the ribbon over the head as it prints.
it could be more sinister thou.
a head is about £200 if you can find one, if you have a service manual and follow it line by line its not to bad to do.

my knowledge is for a pc60 so cant be to helpful ref fitting.

still a good tool for some jobs

Another problem may be the black rollers are dirty which seems to make them want to hang on to the ribbon. . I also had this problem and fix it by cleaning the rollers in the cart after a few reloads

I understand that heads are no longer being made for the UK.
In the usa there is a company called Lcheapo who sell pc60/600 stuff online.
