I’m just about to get some 8x6ft banners printed up and looking for some free standing banner holders to keep the banner held tight

Something that is easy to carry too please

    Anyone any suggestions?

when you say free standing banner, do you mean the alluminium frame with bungees type or a roll-up stand? like you would buy from easystands.com?

in that case i would say the best option is a 6ft wide roll-up banner stand.
you will have seen the 4ft wide ones i use at Sign UK? Your prints should be printed onto the polyester type film that is used in roll-up stands. i buy mine from Europoint but i dont think "they" do a 6ft wide one, but im sure you will be able to buy the easystands version of the material from them, as they do sell the media for them also. i prefer the europoint stuff because ive tried Kentmere’s, Hexis and one or two others.
anyway, even though very thin, it should be printed in one go. joins will cause wrinkles in the film when it is rolled up.
using regular banner material will result in the banner curling in at the sides once its left up for a few hours.
i recon you will pay about £100 for a banner stand cassette, which comes complete with padded shoulder bag for easy carrying.

other than the roll-up stands you can use banner frames with bungees. you can buy them from companies like bannerbox etc i would use these outdoor events in car forcourts, golf courses, playing feilds etc heavier duty and do the job well, but not as easy assembled and depending on who you buy from, will cost you a fair bit more. not sure about the size you have listed on those though.
