  • Does anyone make their own flush solvent?

This may seem a bit of a silly question, and I am all new to the digital printing side, but does anyone mix their own flush solution?

I have a Cadet, and was taken back a bit by the price of the flush cartridges. Looking at the MSDS sheets it only lists four pretty basic solvents as ingredients.

Just wondered if anyone had looked into it?

Yes they are expensive – but considering that you rarely, if ever need to use them – factor it into a year’s running costs and they pale into insignificance.

Home brew solvent flushes wouldn’t be my first choice if trying to maintain my Cadet…there are enough threads on ‘doing stuff on the cheap’ at the moment!

Ask around various suppliers – somebody will do it cheaper than the rest…and you’ll be guaranteed not to melt anything.

cheapest i know of is PrintONE for flush… dont quote me but its something like £5 or £10 each i think… they also do great prices on swabs, cleaning fluid, wiper blades etc

anyway, we do NOT flush. just pop in during the holidays and run a metre print of print. do a regular weekend flush and off we go again.
