    Hi All,
We have a job coming up shortly that is basically a 2 metre wide and 3 metre high inkjet print (in 3 pieces) that the custmer wants mounted onto an internal wall with a frame around it. We were thinking of mounting it onto 5mm foamex and fitting a panatrim type frame around it. The foamex panels would each be 2 metre x 1 metre and we need to join them together on site before fitting. Does this sound like a good way of tackling this or is there a better way?

I wouldn’t use foamex. Even indoors in a stable temperature the panels will tend to bow slightly, independently. It may work if the foamex is in 1 piece. Alternatively use a material that stays flat, like Dibond or similar.

    Andy,
Can you join dibond ok and does it lend itself to slotting into an ali frame?

You can join it using a strip on the back. Also, it can be hung in panatrim. I reckon there’s a demo in the demos area on this. You might even be able to get a sheet to do it in one piece, provided it will go through the door!
