Wrapping Fibreglass Panels – Will it work?
Posted by John Cooper on 1 November 2007 at 19:20My car doesn’t have many panels and what there is, is fibreglass.
I use the car daily and it’s quite a pull so I want to advertise our embroidery business on the panels. what vinyl would work?
(mod-edit)Cheers

What kind of car is that Brian? It is hard to see, from the photo, what space is available for advertising.
Nick.

It’s an Ariel Atom.
There’s not a lot of space to be honest but the obvious would be the bonnet and the bottom along the sides
This site gives you some better views

John, I wouldnt even attempt to advertise on such a unique motor (well near as damn unique)
any stickers would pale into the background, as the car would draw the interest, not the sticker/wrap
Just my opinion…

a small web site maybe but thats it.
i have a robin hood and the only add on it is the tax disc holder.

Thanks for the replies guys and the advice. I’ll go with some lettering along the bottom of the tub. Presumably ordinary exterior vinyl will do the job?
Yes, the car is a real buzz. I wanted a big bike but believe it or not, I saw sense and bought a car instead 😀
I’ve had my Atom for 2 years now and it still gives me my ‘fix’ every day. It’s better than crack (not that I have personal experience of that).
My Atom was the first in Wales but now there’s another 2 and they reside within 5 miles of me.
Have fun, I am 😀

Nice video Brian NOT. Now I want one. Wonder if I can register it over here.
Is it really 20k pounds?

As I said, I was looking for a big bike and it was the Top Gear/Clarkson episode that sold it to me 🙂 I placed my order in April and collected from the factory in Somerset in November.
I understand the waiting times have increased to about 17 months now!!!
A UK Atom will now cost over £30k – but the best £30k I’ve ever spent – the car is simply awesome.
If anyone is looking for further info on the Atom the club forum is the best place. Hope I’m not contravening forum rules by posting the Atomclub forum url!

Really is stunning Brian and must be an absolute buzz to drive. I went for the bike option. Never sees the light of day given the fine Scottish weather we have! :lol1:

nice car you ripped the limiter out yet?
£30K=€45K+33%VRT€15K = €60K here. I would get annoyed by cops if I went 10feet and probably get no insurance. I had the money and get insurance I buy one to mess in and a Bugatti veyron to drive in.
no point advertising on the car as people wil see the car and the adverts wont register.
How not to do a veyron http://www.autoblog.nl/images/wp/bugatti_veyron_raped.jpg
bad wrap -
That Veyron wrap has put me off 🙂
I believe there’s a few Atoms in Ireland but maybe North. Oh, there’s one near Mondello Park, C. Kildare.
I got ‘pulled’ by the Chief Constable of the South Wales Police on Friday for not displaying a front number plate, mind you, I was on their premises! Surprising really as I’ve been ‘stopped’ 28 times this year so far!
I was asked not to leave the premises without something showing the reg. no. so I hastily created a front plate.
Cheers guys and if you ever find yourself down my way and fancy a spin, give me a shout.
