  • RE -SHIRAZ RIP SOFTWARE GIVES WRONG INFO ON INK LEVELS

    I BOUGHT A MIMAKI JV3 SP11 6 MONTHS AGO, THAT IS AWESOME, GOD KNOW I MANAGED BEFORE TRYING TO VINYL EVERYTHING SPOT COLOUR.

    ONE THING I CANT GET ANSWERS ON THOUGH IS WHY WHEN I MONITOR THE INK LEVELS IN SHIRAZ IS WHY WHEN IT GETS DOWN TO ONLY 25 PERCENT LEFT IN ANY COLOUR THE LAST 25 PERCENT OF INK JUST DISAPEARS WHICH DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE!

    QUESTION IS THIS IS A SHIRAZ PROBLEM OR MIMAKI CARTRIDGE CHIP PROBLEM?

    ANY FEEDBACK MUCH APPRECIATED IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM?

    Good to hear you are busy and successful

    Maybe you are churning out so much work the system cant keep up with the amount of ink you are getting through???? 😀 😀 😀

    They’re not precision measuring devices, just gauges.

    Like car petrol gauges, they start going down slowly, but speed up the closer you get to empty.

    Not a problem once you know. 😀

    THAT IS EXACTLY THE SAME CONCLUSION I CAME ABOUT AFTER USING 4 SETS OF INK, WHEN PRICING JOBS I NOW AUTOMATICALLY CALCULATE ANY EXTRA 30 PERCENT FOR THE WRONG READINGS, I JUST THOUGHT AFTER SPENDING A HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY ON SHRAZ PROFESSIONAL 36 INCH THAT THE SOFTWARE WOULD AUTO COMPENSATE FOR THIS PROBLEM, iF i UPGRADE i DONT THINK I WOULD KEEP THE SHIRAZ RIP

    shiraz does read differently to the menu verson on our jv3… found that if you just ignore it then it is much easier. ours is priced on sq mtr used regardless how much ink is used.

    you will also find that shiraz and the jv3 uses a lot of magenta and yellow
