right then, just got a Roland sp -750c, all been setup n works. All i want to know is how to make the cut-marks? i have worked out how to actually make them but how can i apply it to a detailed logo, without having to click all around it? surly there’s a easy way. any help would be great. 😎

in x3 there is a command to create a outside vector.
else if you are working on a vector drawing you have all the lines to work with.

or a bit map turn it black and white then trace it.

krs / Joe…you the same person?

Anyway – various ways to make an cut line. But it involves setting a line / outline as a defined cut path and not a colour. If a vector then it’s just a simple offset, if a bitmap then you’ll need to do a bit of tracing to make a mask / cut path.

hay thanks guys. me and joe are the same company. just one thing, how do i set the trace line bigger, as in point sizes? and if its a vector and i make an offset it goes all out of line, like yeah it fine if its a square but what if its a detailed logo. Really sorry n probs simple but thanks in advance

to detailed to explain but you need to understand
duplicate – contour – weld – trim once you get to grips with them making cutting paths is a doddle.

    play with shapes

    i’m having the same problem,

here is a pic of a logo I need to make a cutline for, obviously the logo already has mutltiple cut lines so how would i make a cutline for just the outer edge of the complete logo?

    thanks.

Can’t see the pic in the thread, but can’t you change the colour of the outline then get your cutting software to just cut that colour…?? Or have I missed the point…

What RIP are you using? Each RIP program handles cutlines slightly differently.

Some need a colour to be assigned as ‘CutLine’ or ‘CutPath’. Probably a guide in your help file.

if you want to cut along the outer Grey edge.
then copy whole thing to one side.
un group and break apart the drawing.
delete all but the line you want, call it cutpath nofill
and reposition on top of the original drawing.
