hi i need some help on the following see attached pic. customer
has scaffold poles sunk in concrete and wants sign to go in the top opening
so the sign will be approx 5000mm x 850mm bottom horizontal pole is 2400mm from the ground,
he doesnt want a banner he wants something more solid
but i am worried about the poles bending as it gets pretty windy where he is. the text on the sign is to be basic (entrance car wash)i was thinking cut out letters welded to his poles but they are going to have to be at least 600mm high and probably pricey
i am busy pricing new posts just to be on the safe side
    any ideas appreciated
    thanks
    derek

If you are worried about the wind then maybe make the panel swing from the top pole?

Get drilling some dibond to reduce the area for wind to pick up on.
If a local co.has a big router or an engineering co. with a water jet
that could be the easiest way to go! 😀 (once all your lettering is on of course 😉 )

Derek, the pole setup looks a bit Heath Robinson. I would be careful about attaching anything to it to be honest. I would of suggested that the client had something a bit more robust fabricated from welded box section steel and an ali sign riveted to the front.

    thanks guys
the more i think of it the more i am inclined to get the customer to get new posts
just priced them up approx 80 quid each for 140 mm post which should be sunk approx 750mm small price to pay for peace of mind
i like the swing panel idea just worried about the size and what to fix it onto the poles with

    thanks again
will let you know the results
